Happy Blueberry Day!!
- Linbo Blueberry Farm: (1201 South Fruitland Puyallup WA 98371) Lindo features over 3 acres of 20 different blueberry varieties in a u-pick setting.
- Blue Dot Farm: (21010 SE 416th St Enumclaw WA) Blue Dot is a u-pick farm in a gorgeous setting. Appointments required to pick.
- Rusty Plow: (23206 SE 448th St. Enumclaw WA) Rusty Plow is a u-pick farm located in the foothills of Mt Rainier.
- Hylebos Blueberry Farm: (630 S 356th St Federal Way, WA 98003) Hylebos has over 2000 bushes at this u-pick farm
- Canter-berry Farms: (19102 SE Green Valley Rd. Auburn WA 98092) Canter-berry (we love the name by the way) is a smaller farm, that's big on taste! They aren't open yet, but expected to be by late July.
- Freeze 'em! Simply place the *unwashed* blueberries in a single layer on a baking sheet in the freezer overnight. Then place the frozen blueberries in a freezer gallon bag. They will be the perfect ingredient for a smoothie! You can also de-frost them in the freezer. Just be sure to wash them first!
- Pancakes! Those fresh blueberries are the perfect ingredient in those weekend pancakes!
- Top 'em off! Add those blueberries to your yogurt or vanilla ice cream. They are the perfect tart topping to the sweet dairy!

- 3 cups fresh blueberries
- ? cup orange juice
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- ? cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Mix blueberries, orange juice, and 3 tablespoons sugar in an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring just until ingredients are combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter over the blueberry mixture, covering as much filling as possible.
- Bake in the preheated oven until topping is golden brown and filling bubbles, 35 to 40 minutes.
